Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan will unveil an economic recovery plan worth PKR 29 billion for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) today (July 30), according to a news source. The planning and development department prepared this three-year plan called ‘Azm-e-Nau’ (The Spirit of KP) for economic recovery in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A statement revealed that Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Riaz and Additional Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan will also be present at the occasion. This statement gave further detail about the plan, revealing that the socioeconomic damage caused by the pandemic will be countered through 43 interventions in nine key development sectors in KP.

These nine sectors are education, health, governance, emergency response, economic growth, public works, jobs for development, social protection, and small & medium enterprises. As per the statement, this plan will help reduce job losses, revive affected businesses, and promote development in the short, medium, and long terms. The focus of the planning and development department is on promoting public sector development in the medium and long terms in the pandemic period, in addition to ensuring economic recovery and progress.
