Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Thursday directed the officials concerned to enforce a complete ban on the use of polythene bags across the province and instructed all district administrations to ensure strict implementation of the ban, according to news sources.

CM Mahmood Khan gave these orders during a meeting of the provincial cabinet. He said that there was ‘no room for any more concessions’ in this regard. He further stated that the provincial authorities had achieved some success in controlling the spread of coronavirus; adding that no negligence will be tolerated on this front.

Special Assistant for Local Government Kamran Bangash also directed the district administrations concerned to enforce the ban on polythene bags and warned of legal action in case of violations. He also said reiterated the CM’s resolve to pursue legal course of action against hoarders and profiteers.
