Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Friday (November 19) announced PKR 2.39 billion worth of uplift projects for Swat district, news sources reported.

Reportedly, the newly approved uplift projects for Swat are linked with road and infrastructural improvements, educational institutions, and the establishment of a rehabilitation and rescue centre.
According to the details, the chief minister visited PK-4 District Swat and announced funds for the blacktopping of Manglawar-Malamjabba Road, the establishment of a Service Delivery Centre at Charbagh, the standardisation of the Government Girls High Secondary School Manglawar, and the establishment of the Charbagh Rescue Station.

On the occasion, he said that similar projects will be announced for the newly merged districts of former FATA to bring more people into the folds of development, and achieve sustainable and inclusive growth. In another related development, the KPK provincial administration has asked the local government and health department to identify places where improved sanitation, potable water, and drainage infrastructure are required. The provincial administration has instructed for the projects’ Project Concept-1 (PC-1) to be prepared and approved as quickly as possible. According to a government spokeswoman, the initiatives seek to improve the civic structure of the provincial capital and reduce water-borne illnesses.
