Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Wednesday provided his approval to a ‘one-year action plan’ for the KP Information Technology Board (KPITB), according to news sources.

As per the official statement, CM Khan approved the said one-year action plan while presiding over a KPITB meeting to review the ‘paperless government’ initiative. This action plan includes multiple initiatives for digital governance that will be implemented over the coming year. It was announced that under the new plan various public services – being offered by different public departments including; birth certificate, domicile certificate, driving licenses and motor car registration – would be digitalised.
Moreover, it was stated that after the completion of back-end digitalisation – the said services will be offered to the citizens concerned at the Citizens Facilitation Centres established under the KP-BOIT.

Furthermore, the provincial government will also introduce e-office systems in public departments (starting with the CM Secretariat). The mobile applications of all departments will also be integrated into a centralized online government system.
The CM has directed the authorities to offer realistic timelines for the implementation of these initiatives.
