Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra on Friday announced the provincial government’s decision to allocate PKR 5 billion for infrastructural development in a number of cities during (Fiscal Year) FY2020-21 — a news source reported.

During a budget speech, minister Jhagra stated that with the assistance of the European Union, the government would be spending PKR 3.9 billion on the development of infrastructure and other services in selected cities across the province.
He revealed that PKR 1.8 billion had been dedicated for the construction of the northern sector of the Warsak Road to Nasir Bagh. Similarly, nearly PKR 550 million is expected to be spent on the development of the provincial capital, under the Peshawar Development Program. Meanwhile, an additional PKR 300 million will be used to improve and rehabilitate amenities and services in the province’s rural areas.

Finally, the minister said that land fill sites will be constructed in Mansehra, Chitral, Upper Dir and Swat. He added that a number of markets would also be established in some tehsils of the province through this initiative.
