Mansehra: Parliament Secretary Salah Mohammad Khan on Saturday stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government had sanctioned PKR 560 million for the development of two main bridges in the Balakot tehsil as well as the provision of natural gas to Shinkiari and Dodial areas of Mansehra district, according to the news sources.

To this effect, Khan revealed that the tendering process was in its final phase and the development work on these three projects will be launched soon. He revealed that PKR 250 million had been sanctioned for the provision of natural gas to the aforementioned areas of the Mansehra district. It was also revealed that two concrete bridges will be constructed on the Kunhar River at an estimated cost of PKR 310 million to link several hundred villages with Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad (MNJ) Road.

The parliamentary secretary revealed that half of Balakot’s population reach the MNJ Road by crossing two dilapidated bridges with broken planks. He also said that the KP government had sanctioned PKR 80 million for Garhi-Garlat Road in Balakot tehsil to minimise travel time in a bid to facilitate the people living in remote areas.
