Peshawar: Adviser to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Wazir on Wednesday announced the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government’s decision to reopen all retail shops across the province on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (May 22-24), according to news sources. He said that the provincial executive had taken this step under the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

An official handout states that the adviser made these remarks during a media briefing at the Information Cell, Civil Secretariat-Peshawar.
Moreover, Wazir revealed that the business community had also been allowed to recommence operations under the communicated, anti-COVID, standard operation procedures (SOPs); in addition to reiterating the need for the public to maintain social distancing and other precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the infection. He cautioned that the government would be forced to re-implement its lockdown protocols; should there be any instances of SOPs violations.

As per the official notification issued by the provincial government, home delivery and bakery take away services will also remain operational after 5 pm.
