Swat: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mehmood Khan on Monday (December 5) handed over allotment letters for the plots to journalists in Swat, according to news sources.

The ownership provisional letters were handed over to the journalists in a ceremony held in the Swat district. As per the details, the plots are located in the Dangram Housing Scheme, which spans over an area of 500 kanals. Of the total plots, the government has allocated 71 plots measuring 5 marlas that are reserved for the journalists of district Swat on a self-financing basis.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Mehmood said that the provincial government is working in tandem with local governments to provide affordable housing to the masses. He said that journalists play an important role in society, and their welfare is also important. He said the government will ensure the launch of more such projects that will provide decent housing facilities to low-income families.

It is important to note that the KP government has launched a number of projects related to housing in the province under the Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP). Under the project, the government provides low-cost housing to people on a 20-year mortgage option.
