Lower Dir: Koto Hydropower Project (Koto-HPP) Assistant Project Director Mohammad Shuaib, during his visit project site in Koto, Timergara, revealed that about 90% work on the project has been completed and the rest of the developments will be finished by December this year, according to media reports.
Timergara Assistant Commissioner Tahir Ali, Deputy Commissioner Aun Haider Gondal and other officials had accompanied Shuaib. This project is expected to generate 40.83MW of electricity, which will be added to the national grid. Giving more details about the project, the director informed that the work on the power tunnel had been completed well before the stipulated time.

Moreover, the director examined different components of the power station including surge shaft, powerhouse, box channel, and sand trap. He also guaranteed his full support and cooperation for ensuring the project is completed on time.
Assistant Director also said the purpose of this project is to provide environmentally-friendly energy to the consumers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The construction of the hydropower plant started back in February 2015 and supposed to be completed by February 2019. The project was approved on 18th August 2014 with the cost of PKR 13.9 billion.
