Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Commissioner Saqib Zafar has announced the district administration’s decision to develop Kotli Sattian’s recreational spot Wadhan Gali on the likes of Murree model in order to transform the former into a tourist destination, a news source reported.

The commissioner gave these directives while presiding over a meeting held to discuss development projects planned for the division. The meeting members were briefed that the project plan to rehabilitate the 38-kilometre-long Rawalpind-Murree-Kashmir Road had been finalised. The commissioner provided his approval to the allocation of PKR 500 million to commence with the rehabilitation of the said road.

Further, Commissioner Zafar instructed the concerned departments to pave and carpet all the roads leading to Wadhan Gali. As per the details, the length of the roads leading to Wadhan Gali is 22 kilometres and their development is estimated to cost PKR 1122 million.

In addition to the above-mentioned projects, the commissioner also approved the disbursement of PKR 1,300 for the development of the 13-kilometre-long Dina-Mangal Road.
