Bahawalpur: The Korean Government is providing funds worth PKR 3.5 billion for the construction of a modern paediatric hospital in Bahawalpur, according to a news source. In this regard, Bahawalpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shozab Saeed held a meeting with a delegation of Korean medical experts in his office on July 2.

For the PKR 5 billion project, the Korean government will provide PKR 3.5 billion on flexible terms and conditions, with the loan to be returned over 35 years. The DC discussed the project plan with the Korean delegation and expressed his gratitude at their special interest in the preparation of this project’s feasibility report.

Saeed said that the project will be completed on time to ensure that the people of Bahawalpur can benefit from it. The facility will be the first of its kind to attend to both regular and complicated medical issues among children in the district, he added.
As per the details shared by the news source, the project’s PC-1 has been prepared. In addition, the administrative and legislative matters for the facility’s operations have also been finalised.

The children’s hospital will be completed in various phases, where its phase 1 will be completed in three years.
