Lahore: To address the city’s growing sewerage water problem, Korea has offered financial assistance worth USD 10 billion for the installation of water treatment plants in Lahore City, news sources reported.
The funds were offered by a representative of the Korean Agency for International Development (KOICA), while he was in a meeting with the Managing Director (MD) Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Syed Zahid Aziz, at the WASA Head Office.
The agency has already identified six prospective sites, including the Shadman Drain, Gulberg Drain, Shalimar Escape Channel, and Stokatla Drain, as well as a plant at Forman Christian College University (FC) for the installation of water treatment plants in Lahore. MD WASA also revealed that a pilot project will be established at the WASA training centre.
