Islamabad: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah announced that Korang Bridge will be open for traffic by December this year, news sources reported. He said that the project. He said this while addressing the lawmakers’ questions in parliament.

He stated that the project had been delayed for a long time since the previous contractor could not complete it in the stipulated 15 months. Following the withdrawal of the previous contractor, the project has been turned over to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), which will complete the project with the same budget despite rising building material prices.
According to Project Concept-1 (PC-1), the Korang Bridge will be expanded from two to four lanes, with the option to expand further. The project is also seen as a vital link connecting the capital city with Punjab and traffic from Lahore to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir, and other northern areas.
