Mansehra: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Communication and Works Department on Wednesday issued legal notices to multiple landowners to either demolish or vacate the properties in the way of the road project being constructed to link Kohistan with the Kolai-Palas – or face legal consequences, according to news sources.

As per reports, the buildings on the Kohistan-Kolai Palas road path include traders’ outlets, commercial structures and residential homes. The landowners have been given notices to vacate and demolish their properties within a week, or a crackdown to ground the structures and legal proceedings will be launched against them.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lower Kohistan Khalid Khan said that the provincial government had demarcated 4-kilometre area to link Pattan with Kolai Palas and paid landowners whose land was acquired (after imposition of Section-4). However, the landowners have yet to vacated the premises. The DC said that the project will play a vital role in linking the Upper and Lower Kohistan districts and in turn lead to further development.
