Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the Karachi Neighbourhood Improvement Project (KNIP) will improve public spaces in selected neighbourhoods of the city, according to a news report.
The CM remarked that the initiative will also strengthen the city government’s capacity to provide administrative services such as business registration and construction permits.

The CM was talking to the media during his visit to the National Museum and Secretariat. Educational and cultural zones are being constructed at the museum, including underground parking area for 400 vehicles. This work is being done under KNIP.

Shah said the project is scheduled to be completed by July 31 this year. The project costing USD 98 million has been financed chiefly by the World Bank. According to the agreement, USD 86 million would be financed through the WB, while the remaining USD 12 million will be provided by the Sindh government.
