Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will develop a 62-acre Kidney Hill Park (Ahmed Ali Park) in KDA Scheme 32, a news source reported. This recreational construction will be pursued as a follow up to the directives of the Supreme Court.
The foundation for the park would be laid after the removal of encroachments from the land dedicated for the attraction. Meanwhile, the preparation of a PC-I for the project would begin after Eid-ul-Fitr.

The meeting was told that five illegal bungalows were constructed in the Kidney Hill Park, besides other encroachments. Notices are soon expected to be issued against these encroachments.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar. Deputy Mayor Syed Arshad Hasan, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif-ur-Rehman, Senior Director Anti-Encroachments Bashir Siddiqui, Director Coordination Masood Alam, Director Land Shaikh Kamal, Legal Advisor Azra Muqeem, along with other officials of the KMC, were also present during the session.
The meeting also decided to initiate a major crackdown in the city against the encroachments present on footpaths.
