Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Department of Parks and Horticulture is set to build 30 large parks across various districts of the city, as reported on October 4.

As per details, this ambitious project aims to provide residents with improved access to recreational areas and promote a healthier urban environment. As part of this initiative, green belts surrounding three key city locations, along with major thoroughfares such as Sharea Faisal and Shahrah-e-Pakistan, will undergo extensive upgrades. The enhancements will include the addition of greenery and landscaping, ensuring these vital areas become more inviting and enjoyable for the public. To further elevate the ambiance of parks and streets, the KMC will also install high-mass lighting poles, improving park lighting and enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the city.

Mayor Murtaza Wahab has expressed his strong commitment to making Karachi a greener and more beautiful place to live. He has instructed the parks department to expedite the construction and renovation of parks in every district, emphasizing the importance of easy access to these recreational spaces for all residents.
“The parks are a public trust, belonging to the citizens of Karachi,” Wahab stated, reinforcing the idea that these green spaces should be protected and preserved for future generations. He assured that the Pakistan People’s Party government is dedicated to restoring these valuable assets and will implement measures to ensure their ongoing maintenance and protection.
