Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has launched a one-stop citizen portal to manage public spaces and entertainment points in the city, news sources reported on November 3.

KMC Municipal Commissioner Syed Afzal Zaidi launched the online portal in the corporation’s office. At the meeting, Zaidi said that the portal will serve as a booking website for all zoos and government buildings offered for private functions. He further elaborated that the citizens will be able to book e-tickets for Safari Park, Karachi Zoo, or Landhi Zoo through the portal without the hassle of waiting in lines. Moreover, data on all the markets and shops managed by the KMC, and information about municipal utility taxes would also be available on the portal.
It was highlighted that to get membership in the ground or sports complexes in Karachi, or if any schools, colleges, or universities wanted to organize an event under the KMC, they could approach the corporation through the application. The KMC has also uploaded the procedure for each type of building and the fee to make the process easier.

It is important to mention that KMC manages 70 departments, all of which will be available on the one-stop portal. Recently, KMC also launched a public helpline to address civic issues through a complaint resolution mechanism.
