Karachi: Karachi Administrator Murtaza Wahab on Saturday (November 13) announced that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has initiated development works in Karachi’s East District with an accumulative cost of PKR 1.1 billion, according to news sources.

As per the details, a tender has been issued for the construction of a road from Machli Chowk to Canopy at the cost of PKR 800 million. Another tender has been issued for the accuracy of street lights on Mai Kolachi Road, at the cost of PKR 200 million. It was also reported that roads and street lights will be improved in different areas of the city at the cost of PKR 1.5 billion.
Karachi Administrator Wahab disclosed that 10 buses for Larkana and 240 new buses for Karachi are expected to reach the city between January 31 and February 7. He added that after the renovation of Frere Hall, Burns Garden is being renovated. The Aziz Bhatti Park will be renovated as well. The administrator also mentioned that all the major arteries will be beautified to enhance the environment.
Moreover, Solid Waste Management Board will collect garbage and conduct cleaning work in Korangi District this month, and Central District from next month. The administration revealed that PKR 260 million has been reserved for the improvement of the Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal.

Sharing more details, Karachi Administrator Wahab mentioned that the project for the construction of roads and patchwork in the city has been prepared with the help of the Sindh government. For this project, the city has been divided into three zones.
