Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has formed a committee that has been charged with the responsibility of overseeing the affairs of graveyards, according to news sources.

Reportedly, the committee, consisting of eight members, will also give suggestions and provide a monthly report to Karachi Administrator and also highlight if there is any need to form sub-committees.
The committee that will comprise officials of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) itself and members representing welfare organizations, will be monitoring graveyards across the city. Moreover, it will also be responsible for providing necessary support to the families of people who have passed away, maintaining a record of all the burials across the city and ensuring that the graveyards are being used for the desired purpose.

The eight-member committee will consist of experienced and senior-level personal including Senior Director of KMC Media Management, Cemetery Director, Cemetery Deputy Director and members of welfare organizations which will include JDC welfare organization, Al-Khidmat Welfare Society, Alamgir Welfare Trust among others.
