Karachi: Following the directives of Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has initiated the filling, repairing work and night-time de-watering work on roads in the city, according to a news source.
During a press briefing, the Karachi mayor said that he had issued directives to the KMC to expedite the work being done to repair the roads and fill in the trenches caused by the recent heavy monsoon spells.

He revealed that the KMC employees had already executed the repair work on the Shahrah-e-Faisal, Nipa University Road, Urdu University, Korangi 12000 Road, and in the UC-28 where a sewerage line was replaced on an immediate basis to facilitate the natives.
Moreover, the mayor said that he had directed the municipality staff to repair the damages caused to sewerage systems on an emergency basis, to ensure that citizens do not have to face problems.

Meanwhile, the KMC is also working on a sewerage system correction project by utilising its own resources.
