Karachi: The City Council of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on Thursday approved the Competitive & Liveable City of Karachi (CLICK)-project contract it signed with the World Bank (WB) for the city’s development, a news source reported. Under this initiative, KMC would execute various uplift projects in the city.

The approval of CLICK-project contract came during the council session chaired by Karachi Deputy Mayor Arshad Hussain. The local councils of KMC, District Municipal Corporations (DMCs), and District Council provided the details for the establishment of the implementation unit for the said project. The members of the meeting declared the contract with WB to be a ‘good sign for the development of Karachi’.

The officials concerned highlighted the need for establishing priorities with regard to developing the infrastructure of municipal services. They added that the CLICK projects would help in uplift projects at the Union Council (UC) level and making Karachi a prosperous city again.
