Faisalabad: The Brick Kiln Owners Association Samundari Sector on Wednesday notified new rates for bricks in the city amid the going coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown situation across the country, a news source reported.

According to details, the rates for A Class Bricks has been set at PKR 9,000 per 1,000 bricks, while for B Class Bricks, the rate has been set at PKR 7,000 per 1,000 bricks. The decision was taken in a meeting at a local brick kiln chaired by association President Chaudhry Arif Gujjar. Other high officials of the association were also present at the occasion.

Addressing the meeting, Gujjar said that the coronavirus lockdown had caused huge losses to brick kiln owners; adding that clay bricks stored by the brick kilns were further damaged due to heavy rains. Even the people who could store their bricks were facing losses so the increase in price was needed, he said.
