The bag distribution took place during a meeting with the local businessmen, traders, and trade unionists at the district administration’s office. Meanwhile, the authorities concerned carried out awareness walks in the Jamrud and Bara tehsils.
The district administration has also initiated a number of operations against the use of polythene bags—confiscating the stocks in the markets and distributing the biodegradable bags instead.
The Landi Kotal tehsil administration has successfully managed to distribute 18,000 biodegradable bags in recent months. Additionally, it has distributed 5,000 such bags in the Bara tehsil of the border district.
