Khyber: The authorities concerned have launched the official website for the Khyber tribal district – the first such initiative in the erstwhile FATA region – in a bid to provide e-utilities to the public and to address their grievances, a news source reported on October 26.

Khyber Deputy Commissioner Mehmud Aslam Wazir stated that ‘khyber.kp.gov.pk’ was designed to provide information regarding government spending on development schemes; adding that the website would ensure ‘transparency, accessibility and visibility as is desired by the people about the working of the district administration’.
The portal features a performance dashboard as well as separate pages on governance, health initiatives (including latest information on polio vaccination and Covid-19 containment measures, and tourism spots in the Khyber region.
Additional e-services include vital information on domicile requests; issuance of birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates; and arms licence acquisition guidelines. To this effect, Wazir said that the portal would enable the youth to submit online applications for domiciles.

He further stated that the website would provide crucial information businessmen and inventors looking to set up new ventures in Khyber. He said that the district administration intended to set up internet centres in all the three tehsil offices, educational institutions, and other public places.
