Khyber: The district administration recently launched a mobile testing service in order to control the spread of the coronavirus infection in Khyber and other remote areas, a news source reported. As per the publication, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan further directed the provincial Health Department to take expedited measures for setting up testing labs at all divisional levels across the province.

Khyber District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Tariq Hayat stated that a health department team including doctors and two paramedic officials would visit the remote areas in the districts upon receiving reports of suspected coronavirus infection cases. They would then collect a samples on a large scale and send them for testing at a lab in Peshawar.
Hayat said that the mobile testing service van that had been supplied for the purpose was fully equipped, and that later rescue teams would also share similar duties. Moreover, he revealed that he had forwarded the request for the provision of additional testing kits to the higher authorities.

The KP CM highlighted that the country was facing an unprecedented situation that required ‘out of the box’ measures and solutions. He also advised the district administrations and staff on duty at quarantine and isolation centres to strictly abide by the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to protect themselves against the coronavirus infection. He ordered to facilitate the individuals quarantined at the maximum level.
