Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to begin construction work on the Allah Hoo roundabout, Khayaban-e-Firdousi remodelling and the Shoq Chowk to Shaukat Khanum Flyover project, a news source reported recently.

The project has already been awarded to Messers Concept Engineering for PKR 96 million by the LDA — with the company expected to complete the project in 2 months. According to the Director-General (DG) LDA Ahmad Aziz Tarar, the project will benefit 0.2 million people daily and will alleviate traffic issues in the city.

Moreover, according to the plan, the Allah Hoo roundabout will be dismantled, and the Khayaban-e-Ferdousi road will be dualized. Similarly, two protected U-turns will be built before and after the Allah Hoo roundabout. In addition, headed straight from Shouq Chowk to Shaukat Khanum, Mahmood Chowk, Jagawar Chowk, and Shadiwal Chowk will be redesigned, and new traffic signals will be installed to ensure smooth traffic flow at the choke
