Rawalpindi: Work on Khanpur Dam’s third phase is almost 95% complete, and is expected to be completed by the end of December, stated a news report. This statement has come from Executive Officer Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Sabtain Raza while talking to media.
He said that work is being carried out by their team with the objective to complete the third phase of Khanpur Dam by the third week of December. Raza also said that out of a total fund of PKR 880 million, the RCB has received PKR 822 million, while the remaining amount will be received on a quarterly basis.
While talking about the importance of the dam, Raza said that at present there is a shortfall of 44 million gallons of water per day, and that after the completion of the thirf phase of Khanpur Dam, it will be reduced by 30 million gallons per day.
