Taxila: Due to the monsoon rains, the water level in Khanpur Dam has risen by 17 feet, according to a news source. Wapda official Irfan Khattak explained that the water in the reservoir is increasing due to the heavy rains in Murree and the Galliyat.
He added that the level was previously 1,920 feet, just 10 feet above the dead level. Now, the level is at a less precarious 1,937 feet, which means that the chances of a water crisis have been significantly reduced till the next monsoon. He further stated that with this increased inflow, more water was being supplied to the beneficiaries of the dam, averting a water shortage. Tourism is also ongoing here, with boating and other activities being enjoyed by people.
