Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board has stated that the completion of Phase III of the Khanpur Dam project by March 2018 is subject to issuance of funds, according to a news source. The project requires funds worth PKR 58 million by December 2017.
The statement was given in a Planning Division meeting, which was held to discuss the completion status of the project in light of delays seen in issuance of funds. The Cantonment Board stated in the meeting that the project is seeing delays only because of the delayed release of the required funds.
The Khanpur Dam Water Supply project has been unable to supply the required amount of water to Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment, as it currently doesn’t have enough storage capacity.
