Karachi: The Sindh government is initiating water sports activities at Keenjhar Lake near Thatta District, as reported on June 3.

According to the news details, Sindh’s Culture and Tourism Minister Zulfiqar Shah confirmed the commencement of these activities on a trial basis, with regular water sports and paragliding to follow shortly. In a steering committee meeting chaired by Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, the committee discussed plans for the development of Keenjhar Lake. This included a presentation by the Kuwait Investment Agency on the modern resort. Minister Imtiaz Sheikh emphasised the government’s commitment to transforming Keenjhar Lake into an appealing tourist spot by offering contemporary amenities.

The proposed modern resort is expected to attract both local and international tourists with its cutting-edge facilities. Minister Imtiaz Sheikh highlighted the lake’s vast expanse of 24 km and efforts to pinpoint an ideal location for the resort’s construction. The project’s completion is anticipated to bolster both domestic and foreign exchange earnings.
