Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has decided to develop sports grounds on land retrieved from encroachers and land grabbers, a news source reported.

KDA Director General Abdul Qadeer Mangi expressed his views on the matter during a friendly cricket match on Wednesday. He said that the civic agency is making utmost efforts to develop sports grounds in the metropolis.
For this purpose, KDA plans to utilise its land recovered in anti-encroachment operations on a permanent basis. He said that civic agency is committed to promote different sports in the city.
Moreover, he said the authority has started digitising its land records in a bid to avoid possible financial losses.

He added that KDA’s IT department was digitising letters, transactions, as well as recoveries. The new policy is aimed at preserving the authority’s important data and information.
