The KDA DG also announced that public parks in KDA-administered areas will also be rid of all encroachments. He added that the KDA will follow the private-public partnership model to set-up these new leisure facilities.
During the past one year, the KDA has launched various targeted operations to remove encroachments from various public parks. The Supreme Court had instructed the development authority and various other departments in Karachi to retrieve amenity plots in the city from illegal occupants. Some of these actions were taken in response to public complaints regarding the miss-use of these spaces.
