Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has started digitising its land records in a bid to avoid possible financial damages, a news source reported.

KDA Director General Abdul Qadeer Mangi expressed his views on the matter during a meeting on Sunday. He said that the authority would computerise manual challans soon.
He added that KDA’s IT department was digitising letters, transactions, as well as recoveries. The new policy is aimed at preserving the authority’s important data and information.
Previously, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Inspection & Inquiries Waqar Mehdi had directed the land department of the KDA to digitise its data.

Waqar Mehdi said that there was a need to digitise the land record of KDA. He called on the civic agency to complete this process on an immediate basis in a bid to facilitate the citizens of Karachi.
