Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has decided to launch a 25-storey “People’s Sky View’ apartment project in Surjani Town under a low-cost housing initiative, news sources reported on November 23.

The project will be launched in Surjani Town, KDA Scheme 41, Sector B-7. The apartment complex will be the first low-cost housing project by the government in the area. It will feature 3 and 4-bedroom apartments equipped with the latest urban amenities. Speaking to the media, KDA Director Syed Muhammad Ali Shah said that the project has already been finalized and the final approval is pending before the KDA Board. Once approved, the project will be launched and completed for the residents of Karachi. He said that the government and the KDA administration are actively seeking new projects of this kind to accommodate citizens’ housing needs.

As per the sources, the project will consist of 7 towers with 1,700 apartments. The allotment of the apartments will be made through a computerized ballot, with preference given to those living on rent.
It is worth noting that the KDA recently began a massive operation against land encroachers in Surjani Town, resulting in the recovery of thousands of plots from encroachers.
