Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah presided over a high-level meeting on Thursday to settle outstanding concerns with the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) and the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) over parking plazas in Saddar and Bara-Dari, the news source reported.

The issue of parking plazas in Bara-Dari and Saddar, over which both civic authorities have staked a claim, was examined. After hearing both sides, the minister instructed the parties to drop their ongoing lawsuits regarding the matter. The minister also ordered that the KDA withdraw their claim and hand over the Bara-Dari parking lot to the KMC. Similarly, the parking plaza in Sadar-Karachi was returned to the KDA after the details of the properties were analysed.

CM Shah further stated that both civic bodies are concerned with the benefit of the people and should not become involved in civil lawsuits over land problems. The meeting also addressed issues with the city’s advertisement points and the income produced by them. According to the details, there is a dispute between KMC and District Municipal Corporation (DMC) over revenue, which the minister stated should be managed by DMC and income divided in accordance with the previously established practice.
