According to the details, sources reveal that the KDA’s Governing Board greenlit the scheme approximately two years ago, awaiting approval for the acquisition of state land from the Sindh Government. The KDA Director General Naveed Anver outlined the forthcoming steps.
He disclosed that a proposal to allocate over 14,000 acres near the Northern Bypass to the KDA, at concessional rates payable in four equal instalments, would be submitted to the Chief Minister. Additionally, the Board of Revenue (BoR) would be approached to obtain ownership details of private land in Deh Mithaghar and Deh Mahio for potential acquisition.

Highlighting the escalating demand for housing in the city, Mr Anver emphasised the need for an estimated 100,000 new residential units annually, with the formal sector capable of providing only 32,000 units. This discrepancy forces citizens into informal settlements or shanty towns, underscoring the pressing need for accessible housing options.
