Karachi: Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Director General Syed Mohammad Ali Shah has expressed resolve to address the land grabbing issues that are posing a threat to urban planning in the city, a news source reported on March 24.

The news source mentioned that due to rising cases of land grabbing and unlawful encroachments, KDA has decided to take action against these violations and land grabbers. It was disclosed that streets, parks, roads, and spaces alongside railway tracks have illegal encroachment. Also, the unscrupulous elements work with the regulatory officials to set up structures that violate the city’s master plan.

Reportedly, the authority stated that there is a need to take urgent action to stop the growing cases of land grabbing. A KDA spokesperson (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that this step will improve the aesthetics of the city and promote sustainable urban development.
