Karachi: Ministry of Railways Divisional Superintendent Arshad Khattak on Saturday announced that the project to restore the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) track has been prepared and the work on it will soon begin, a news source reported. He visited both the track locations to review them.

According to details, Commissioner Karachi Iftikhar Shalwani visited the location where the restoration work on the KCR track is underway (between City Station and Orangi). He also visited the Urdu College area where 4-kilometre track of KCR has been damaged by drains and are to be replaced with new tracks. He then visited the Nazimabad Station to review another section of the damaged tracks.

Shalwani, while providing the details of the restoration work, said that the new sewerage line will also be laid in the Urdu College area so that any damage to the tracks could be avoided in the future. The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) has also been instructed to initiate the work on it.
