As per the initial plans, the first KCR route was planned between Orangi and Pipri following its departure from the Orangi Station at 7am on November 19 – followed by subsequent departures at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm. However, arrangements for the initial route were said to be incomplete as railway engineers and experts did not provide clearance for the 14-km track for the level crossing to the Orangi Station.

The KCR service is expected to run on a 46-kilometre track from today while the remaining track will be made operational in mid-December. Reportedly, KCD is set to resume operations after two decades. The train has two locomotives and 11 coaches — each with a capacity to move almost 100 passengers, 64 on seats and 36 standing. A fare of PKR 50 has been fixed for this train.
