Karachi: Chinese firm CR-NORINCO has offered to lend technical support for the Karachi Circular Railways (KCR) project, a news source reported. Sindh Transport Minister Awais Shah met with a delegation of the firm, which is a joint venture of the China Railways Corporation (CR) and China North Industries Corporation (NORINCO).

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Shah stated that they are committed to the KCR project despite not having received any information from the federal government regarding its execution and completion. He added that the Chinese officials discussed KCR and its related issues in detail. He revealed that several other companies are in contact with them in relation to KCR.

Shah said that the provincial government is committed to providing better transport facilities to the public. He added that KCR will play a significant role in accomplishing this goal. He opined that the KCR’s completion will almost resolve the issue of transport in Karachi. He stated that people of Karachi should expect good news from the Sindh government very soon.
