Islamabad: Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kistafin met Federal Minister for Commerce Syed Naveed Qamar and conveyed his country’s willingness to sign Kazakhstan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement, according to news published on January 26.

Moreover, Ambassador Kistafin mentioned that the agreements will be finalised soon. During the meeting, potential opportunities for trade and cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan were discussed, which included several transit trade agreements. Federal Minister Qamar mentioned that the government is interested in further establishing strong economic and trade ties between the two countries.

Moreover, it was disclosed that Pakistan will host the next session of the Joint Working Group on Trade in future to discuss problems of bilateral trade and to take measures for strengthening economic integration. The news source mentioned that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kazakh Invest & QazTrade from Kazakhstan and the Board of Investment (BOI) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) was signed in December 2022, which will enhance trade and investment activities.
