Chakwal: Chairman of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Dr. Syed Atta-ur-Rehman, has announced that a master plan is being prepared to enhance the beauty and restore the historic Katas Raj Temple in Chakwal.
Speaking at a Hindu religious ceremony held at the temple, he emphasized the government’s commitment to preserving and developing places of worship for Hindu and Sikh communities in Pakistan. He added that the ETPB is actively working to maintain and protect religious sites of minority communities.

Hindu pilgrims from India gathered at Katas Raj Temple to perform Maha Shivratri rituals. During the ceremony, Indian jatha leader Trilok Chand praised Pakistan’s hospitality, stating that they had received immense love and were provided with all necessary facilities. Deputy jatha leader Raghu Kant also expressed gratitude, calling Pakistan a cradle of peace and a safe country for minorities.
To facilitate Hindu pilgrims, Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain recently inaugurated a 36-room residential complex near the temple. Additional Secretary Shrines Saifullah Khokhar, Deputy Secretary General Shrines Umar Javed Awan, and other officials were also present at the event.

Security arrangements were ensured by the district administration and police, while the ETPB provided accommodation and food for the pilgrims.
