Lahore: The authorities have decided to include Kasur, Nankana, Sheikhupura in Lahore region Master Plan 2040, a news source reported. A meeting of the stakeholders has been called for consultation next week.
The authorities have decided to prepare the master plan of the entire region instead of just the city of Lahore. The duty of preparation of the master plan has been assigned to Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Metropolitan Wing and Strategy Policy Unit.
A 15-member committee for revision of the master plan will also present its recommendations on the master plan. In the beginning of the next year, the first draft of the master plan will be given in its final shape.
The committee includes LDA chief town planner, chief engineer and representatives from Water and Sanitation Authority, Lahore Waste Management Company, Environment Protection Agency, Traffic Engineering & Planning Agency director, Punjab Safe City Authority managing director, Metropolitan Planning director and Lahore chief traffic officer as its members.
