Islamabad: The Ministry of Housing and Works has issued Provisional Offer Letters (POLs) for the Kashmir Avenue apartment project to 1,652 government employees, a news source reported on April 13. The information was shared by an official of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority with the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

The low-cost apartment project is located in G-13 and it consists of three towers, each with three basements and ground plus twenty-one stories. Reportedly, out of the total units allotted, 796 POLs were of the A-Category, while 857 of the B-Category. The official further revealed that the authority has canceled 184 POLs on non-payment of surcharges.
According to sources, the transfer of Kashmir Avenue apartments would be subject to clearance of outstanding dues, which is 23 % of the unit’s total cost. Once the dues are paid, the apartment numbers will be assigned by balloting and verification of service details from the allottees’ respective departments.

It should be noted that the project was initiated by the government in order to improve residential amenities for government employees and offer them low-cost housing units. When completed, it will have 1,467 apartments. The basements of the buildings will be used for parking, while the ground floors will be used for amenities.
