Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on affairs of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan recently announced that the development work on the Kashmir Expressway and Islamabad Expressway, among other major infrastructural projects in the city, would be completed soon — a news source reported. As per the publication, he further remarked that the government was still working against a difficult economic situation, and that further effort was required in this regard.

The special assistant made these comments while talking with a delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI). During the meeting, Awan also revealed that the authorities concerned would be prioritising the uplift of markets and industrial areas in the city.
The delegation was led by ICCI President Muhammad Ahmed Waheed, and he was accompanied by ICCI CDA Committee Convenor Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Chairman CDA Amir Ali Ahmad, and CDA Building Control Section Director Faisal Naeem Baig.

The ICCI President urged the CDA members to notify the people concerned about the amended industrial building bylaws. He noted that the changes in the bylaws had been approved by the CDA Board, but they had not been notified to the general public as yet.
The CDA Chairman, while detailing the allotment of funds, stated that the authority had committed PKR 250 million for the uplift of major markets in the capital city. He added that an additional PKR 100 million had been set aside for the development of the Kahuta Industrial Triangle.
