Lahore: The Punjab government is set to embark on the construction of a “Darshan Resort” adjacent to the revered Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, as per the source’s claims on December 18.

According to the shared details, the Punjab Tourism Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar revealed that the construction of the five-storey Darshan Resort is scheduled to commence next month, with an estimated cost of PKR 300 million. This endeavour is envisioned to facilitate Sikh pilgrims arriving from various parts of the world.
Situated just 500 meters away from Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, the project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2024. The Punjab government has pledged full funding for the initiative, demonstrating its commitment to supporting religious tourism in the region.
Secretary Anwar outlined the features of the Darshan Resort, stating that the top level will include amenities such as a mini cinema, a gym, and at least ten suite rooms. Moreover, the resort is designed to offer a breath-taking aerial view of Kartarpur Sahib, enhancing the overall experience for pilgrims.

Acknowledging the historical and spiritual significance of Kartarpur, where Guru Nanak Dev spent the final years of his life, the resort project aligns to promote religious tourism and foster a deeper connection for Sikh pilgrims visiting this sacred site.
