Islamabad: The Pakistan Government of Pakistan has launched a significant infrastructure project to enhance travel convenience for Sikh pilgrims visiting the Kartarpur Corridor, according to a news article on January 6.

Pursuant to the details, this initiative focuses on constructing a 1.54-kilometre road linking Narowal to Sialkot, with an allocated budget of PKR 200 million. The Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, inaugurated a significant road construction project on Sunday. This initiative, which is set to be completed within five months, reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring timely and efficient infrastructure development.
The project encompasses multiple improvements, including the construction and widening of roads to accommodate increasing traffic and facilitate smoother travel. Additionally, the project involves upgrading the sewerage systems to enhance sustainability and environmental health. To address traffic congestion near the Narowal Railway Station, effective traffic management measures will be implemented, significantly improving mobility in the area.
Once completed, the new road is expected to improve accessibility for Sikh pilgrims traveling to the Kartarpur Corridor, offering them a more comfortable and efficient journey.
