Islamabad: The federal government plans to inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor project in the second week of November, a news source quoted Minister for Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony Sahibzada Noor-ul-Haq Qadri as saying.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. He said that more than 5,000 yatrees (pilgrims) would be able to visit their sacred religious site at Kartarpur Sahib on a daily basis – without visa requirement.
Previously, Kartarpur Project Director Atif Majeed had confirmed that the government would inaugurate the project in early November. He had also revealed that the authorities concerned planned to double the daily accommodation capacity (5,000 visitors) in the future.
Qadri opined that the minority community members enjoyed equal rights in Pakistan where celebrations of their religious festivals frequently took place at the federal level.

In response, the ambassador lauded the measures taken by the Pakistan government for the welfare of the minorities. He also expressed his willingness to closely work with the executive for tackling climate change issues.
