Karak: The residents of Tappi Kanda, Tappi Jama and neighbouring localities have demanded construction of pedestrian bridges at busy thoroughfares on the Indus Highway – a news source reported.
They contend that the ongoing dualisation of the highway has made it impossible for the people to cross the road.

The representatives said that people risk losing their lives while crossing the highway at busy places. They pointed out that pedestrian bridges across the highway need to be built at all busy places, including the Culvert Chowk, Tarkha Koi Chowk, Jail Chowk, Tangori Sar Chowk, Amberi Kala Chowk, Hamidan Chowk and Jama Chowk.

The residents of Mithakhel also met JUI-F leader Kamal Darwesh and asked him to take up the issue of construction of overhead bridges with the authorities concerned.
The representatives have also taken up the issues of National Highway Authority (NHA) and demanded that it construct the required bridges or it can result in severe accidents.
